The effective use of a measuring instrument requires high measuring accuracy. Only precise knowledge of the maximum permissible errors, regular adjustment of the measuring instrument and preventive servicing guarantee the required measuring accuracy of the instruments and avoid costly over-deliveries or even operational breakdowns.
This has been the service mission of the WPD Group in Europe for more than 50 years.
The Austrian Metrology Act requires users of measuring systems to provide the measuring systems and auxiliary equipment needed for official verification. WPD was founded at the instigation of the mineral oil industry to ensure, as a neutral service provider, comprehensive support for already installed liquid measuring systems – from accuracy testing, calibration and adjustment through to repair and, where necessary, replacement. And this for all measuring systems from all manufacturers. In cooperation with the BEV (Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying), the then newly founded WPD Austria Wartungs- und Prüfungsdienst GmbH took up this innovative service mission in 2005.
The WPD Group develops mobile test vehicles with installed test equipment. Trained and certified employees carry out the hands-on service on site at the measuring system: the mobile testing and adjustment of permanently installed measuring instruments for liquids. The mineral oil industry, mineral oil traders, ship and tank truck loading facilities, aviation fuelling stations and tank truck operators were, and still are, our partners.
The great advantage of the WPD system – testing the measuring system on site, in its installed state, with mobile test vehicles – very quickly proved to be a cost-effective solution requiring little effort from the operator. Long downtimes and the complicated removal of measuring instruments were, and are, no longer necessary.
WPD is one of the largest mobile service companies in Europe. Especially in times of high fuel and energy costs, operators of liquid installations depend on the measuring accuracy and reliable operation of their measuring systems. To guarantee this, WPD Austria Wartungs- und Prüfungsdienst GmbH has numerous mobile and stationary test instruments as well as repair workshops for measuring instruments from all manufacturers, ensuring that your measuring systems are ready for use at all times across the entire flow range of “measuring instruments for liquids”.
